Suryagita Cox is an experienced teacher of the Alexander Technique, member of STAT (Society for Teachers of the Alexander Technique, UK) and chair of ATTSNZ (Alexander Technique Teachers Society of New Zealand). She also specialises in voice coaching, singing tuition and presentation skills. Suryagita offers individual lessons in the Alexander Technique for help with posture, back and neck pain, RSI (OOS) and stress; personalised voice coaching; and Free Your Voice or Harmony Singing workshops and presentation skills for individuals and corporate clients.. She is based in Wellington, New Zealand, and also teaches in Auckland and Sydney.

Harmony Singing with Suryagita

Saturday mornings at Wellington High School (Community Education) starting 5 May 2012

4 week course: 5-26 May 9.30am - 12.30pm

Develop your vocal skills and ability to harmonise in a group. You will also learn to connect with your body as your vocal instrument, finding easy breathing and "alive relaxation" while singing. The course will include exercises to help you to keep rhythm, pitch your voice, improvise and sing songs from around the world, in a supportive and relaxed atmosphere.

No experience of music is necessary - beginners welcome!

The Voice of the Buddha

Chanting workshop at the Auckland Buddhist Centre

Sunday 6 May 10.30am - 4pm
From the ground of meditation and connection with the breath and body, we will explore the “Voice of the Buddha” through chantingand sound. We will focus on the mantras connected with Shakyamuni, to celebrate the Buddha’s enlightenment at Wesak.
All welcome - no experience in meditation, Buddhism or voice work necessary.
